FluiDyna GmbH specializes in GPU-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Besides highly qualified engineers with extensive professional experience, the company also engages talented university students. One of them is Michael Zellner. He will participate at the Student Cluster Competition, held as part of the Super Computing Conference 2015 in Austin, Texas on November 16, 2015. The competition allows highly talented students to demonstrate their skills to experts of the international HPC industry. Zellner and five fellow students of the Technische Universität München are qualified for the contest as the only European team. “Thus, we are very proud of taking part in the Student Cluster Competition”, says Zellner. “In the past weeks, we used every free minute for preparation”.

In a real-time, non-stop, 48-hour challenge, the team has to assemble a small cluster and to complete a real-world workload across a series of applications. In doing so, it has to be faster than the other eight adverse crews. “I’m sure that the German team will cope very well with this task”, says Dr. Thomas Indinger, CEO of FluiDyna. „We keep our fingers crossed for Zellner and his crew and wish them all the best“. FluiDyna will sponsor T-shirts for Zellner and his team.
